The first day of the Occupy Darien demonstration got off to a slow start at a wet Tilley Park in Darien on Wednesday morning with about 10 protesters coming out for the event…Tommy Fox, a veteran of several Occupy Wall Street protests, came from New York to take part in the event. He blamed the low attendance on the wet weather and lack of coordination between event organizer Margaret Rague and occupiers in New York. He said he has been trying to spread the word, and that more people may show up Thursday. [The Daily Darien]
I am glad Santa is taking time off from making presents for the 99%, so that he can protest the 1%
What's going on with that picture? Is Madoff on release to attend this event?
This is the way the protest ends
This is the way the protest ends
This is the way the protest ends
Not with a bang but a whimper
WTF, I told someone to bring the goddam drum. How the hell are we suppose to protest without someone banging on drums. People get with this shit.

Maybe the fact that it was organized by a lady who is batsh!t crazy has something to do with it ?
This is sad, with three of the four looking like they're on Social Security and one like he just defaulted on his student loans, it seems another Occupy rally is supported by my tax dollars.
You left out the best part: the quote from the lad from New Canaan about how it's important to protest in places like Darien because "this is the belly of the beast as far as income inequality." the article says that the young man (shown with the cardboard sign in the photo) hasn't been involved in previous protests because he has been studying abroad until recently.
My favorite thing is that 2 weeks ago the organizer was arrested for "walking intoxicated in the middle of the road." What I protest about when I'm drunk generally relates to unequal distribution of little lime slices.
Yup, you get a strong shot of teh crazay when you Google Margaret Rague (Luedecker). I've no idea why she goes by her maiden name (other than a nasty divorce from an AIG attorney, Warren Luedecker, a million years ago. Perhaps it was part of the divorce decree which I've heard is an interesting case file to read). She claims to be a nun, a lawyer (licensed under the Luedecker name), and an MD.
For a full on dose of the crazay read this article and her comments after the article regarding her arrest for being drunk and disorderly in public. http://darien.patch.com/articles/occupy-darien-or…
I forgot to add that another article quoted her as giving Tommy Fox $1k cash to attempt to bring up some OWS bums for today's continuation of the protest. She said she was willing to pay up to $3k for train fare and meals to bring more protesters today. Perhaps all the people who live and work around Zuccotti would like to contribute to her efforts to relocate the homeless out of NYC.
I'm dyin' of laughter but that's probably because I don't live in Darien.
I'm going to go occupy my toilet and then head off to work…
Silver Hill is for quitters!
Those of us from the 203 can appreciate the awesomeness of this.
Occupy Darien should take note of Occupy Victoria’s approach. During the summer (!) they had just 3 (!!) protestors. “We’re taking a bit of a break from meetings over the holiday season, but on Wednesday Dec. 21st there will be a screening of the 132 minute-long documentary THRIVE which is relevant to our movement as it uncovers the global consolidation of power in nearly every aspect of our lives.
Weaving together breakthroughs in consciousness, activism and science THRIVE offers real solutions for reclaiming our lives and our future.”
In other words, let’s stop protesting, watch a film, and punch the sky.
Litchfield County > Fairfield County > Rest of CT
Well, yeah, a semester in Innsbruck is a basic human right
What makes Litchfield County so awesome? The overwhelming smell of cow shit? Torrington?
Litchfield County is full of prep schools, farms and "country homes" of the NYC new money. Fairfield county may be brought down by the ghettos of Bridgeport, but the landscapers and housekeepers need to live somewhere, right?
203 is also New Haven County.
