Still don't have my results. This is a little ridiculous.

  2. Packed for Camp says:

Fuck you, fuck you, fuck you, you're cool, and I'm out!

  3. Matt's Self Esteem says:

Writing 3 blog posts the day before the level III results come out instead of taking the test is the causeway to cool*

*Assuming 2 margs + 15mg Adderall per post = fun day

  4. Guest says:

I don't have my results either. Not good for my anxiety.

    • guest says:

You know what's a good way to get rid of anxiety?

    • .Bo says:

      Got mine at 9:33.

      • Guest says:

And for that, I hate you…

-guy sitting waiting for his results as the clock closes in on 1pm

        • .Bo says:

Best of luck. I think there area lot of people in the same boat. CFAI dropped the ball.

          • Done and dusted says:

Dropping the ball? Please, you've been in this game for (at least) 2 years and you can't wait 30min? An hour at most?

I passed, but I dunno, I guess I just don't get that excited about exam results now after 20+ schooling/tests etc.
Regardless of my result I was convinced that I will never, EVER, set foot in another exam hall in my life!

  5. just passed says:

Prematurely adding ", CFA" to your resume before actually receiving the charter is the NKI

    • Guest says:

I rolled the dice and put it on my resume even after I failed to pass level I. Got the job. The 0.035 pc chance HR finds out was worth the risk. I'm performing and chase pussy with my boss, so even if they find out I lied, I'm willing to bet it's NBD.

      • D. Loeb says:

Don't fucking count on it shithead.

        • Guest says:

Yea, because the average CFA dork is CEO material and/or ever going to be listed on a public filing. Nobody cares about another back office drone.

          • Guest says:

"Yea, because the average CFA dork is CEO"

            Okay,

            1. Hedge funds generally don't have CEOs period. Are you sure you're on the right website?

            2. As far as the CEO equivalent, say general partner, a decent amount of the ones in alternative investments do have CFAs.

            3. Compared to who? MBAs? Do you think the average MBA is CEO material? Are you smoking crack?

            4. The survey that HBS produced of alumni showed that the average earnings of graduates was 350k per year 26 years after graduating. That's close to the average for all CFAs (minus the being in their early 50s part). Not impressed.

          • VW203 says:

How many times did you fail Level I?

      • guest says:

try this: multiply the .035% chance you get caught with the 100% chance you're unemployable if you do. you like that number?

  6. Bob Ryan says:

What if I told you that you could spend 3+ years of your life studying your ass off for 3 little letters and the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to go to the day camp for the elite, the best-of-the-best, in a special little place called Charlottesville, Virginia? Is that something you might be interested in?

They run VAR @ Shake Shack?

    • CFA Ghana says:

know how i know you got your MBA? you think VAR is a reasonable risk measurement tool.

  14. Buzz Killington says:

Do not think of the CFA as a magic qualification that will turn your CV around. The CFA will not cover for poor academic performance or for having graduated from a less-known university. If lack of "academic prestige" is your issue, we recommend you go study an MBA / Master Degree at a top business school. On the opposite scenario, if you already graduated from a top school, adding the CFA qualification will probably not make a significant difference to potential employers. Unfortunately, there are so many people with CFAs nowadays that even though people will recognise that getting the CFA is a lot of hard work, the qualification has definitely lost some of its prestige. In fact, only very few bankers have the CFA.

    • guest says:

" In fact, only very few bankers have the CFA."

and this is relevant to the large percentage of readers who work at hedge funds how?

    • guest says:

"we recommend you go study an MBA / Master Degree at a top business school."

      who is 'we'…

    • guest says:

    • thread-killa says:

keep hatin' – just passed 3/3, bitch. Go spend 100k+ at your prestigious business school. An average undergrad and a lot of hunger got me the job your wife wishes you had.

    • guest says:

also, while you weren't paying attention, banking turned into the worst job in finance. unless you like working 75 hours a week, 30 of them on airplanes, and getting rewarded at the end of the year with restricted stock moving in the wrong direction.

  18. Guest says:

Who wants to have a celebratory drink?

    – Not in the 52% or the 48% but just looking for a reason to have a drink.

  19. Guest says:

Annoyed I had to wait until 1:40 to find out i'm in the 52%…That is nearly 5 hours of quality drinking time the CFA cost me

  20. Guest says:

What's the CFA exam? Is that what the unconnected take to get a call backs? Tough but fair.

  21. cordell says:

.. and still, all kids get pumped up, but no one gets to know their actual score, or the passing score, not to mention seeing a graded exam.. (top secret)
exam fees > membership fees > "full and fair disclosure

    • guest says:

Ah yes, $100k at a top b-school to buy more friends like Laxbro, barely learning anything other than how to JO your own ego, and never having to disclose your GPA to potential employers is far better.

      • MBA says:

There's <10 (worthwhile) schools the practice GND. Last I saw, the Ivy was roughly split.

        Other than that, no concerns.

        – guy who would probably end up being friends with Laxbro at b-school

  22. Guest says:

Even if you failed, put in on your LinkedIn. Recruiters are so thirsty for a nut they won't verify your shit if you phone well and have a strong credit score.

    • guest says:

please tell me that's a joke. any bank/fund worth it's salt will fire you instantaneously if they find out your resume contains a falsehood. added bonus: you get to explain "the whole mixup" to the next recruiter / interviewer.

  26. Guest says:

    CFA > MBA

  27. Guest says:

As a CFA and an MBA from a top 10 school, let me just say neither one is better than the other. Both are good, neither are great. And they aren't really comparable except for the fact they both fall under the business umbrella. Stop trying to compare the two, and stop thinking one is the end all and the other isn't worth anything. Like I said, both are good, neither are great. Work experience trumps both. So while it may give you an added benefit to getting your foot in the door for an interview, a simple undergrad with experience and without CFA/MBA will get the job all else equal.

I’ve tried the greensmoke once and it blew decent vapor. I’ve heard reviews that the KR808D-1 has more of a kick to it, but not as much vapor compared to it. Personally the 901 is my favorite and the 510 comes in second place. Everyone has different tastes when it comes to their preferred model as well as the liquids.

I have a colleague listed here in Illinois that however has the ’63 Wildcat convertible he bought right outside of substantial college. Really rare four speed car with incredibly low miles. Car has always been stored within a temperature controlled surroundings and he is these types of a stickler that he hardly ever fully shut the doors simply because her failed to wish to compress the weatherstrips. I observed recently that he might be considering selling this triple white beauty and I desire I had the spare change around to get it into my garage.

  42. Obviously you might be still upset which the “peasant” Catholics dared to disagree using the Cardinal’s scandalous selection to honor the most professional abortion president this country has at any time acknowledged. Superior. For that final fifty many years we have now needed to endure chaose within the Church mainly because of people like you who have a problem using the teachings with the Church however, you refuse to depart. Though the good news is the fact that liberal disobedient orders of nuns and priests haven’t any vocations and will quickly be extinct. Although the evil they prompted will linger for your while. Plus the young children of liberal Catholics have no adore to the faith and could treatment less, so hopefully as soon as the liberal elites while in the Church are ultimately absent the Church can rid herself with the disobedience, choas, extrememe liturgical abuse, and sexual depravity which has been tolorated and encouraged for the final 50 decades.
