Disgraced politician Dominique Strauss-Kahn will be tried on “aggravated pimping” charges, officials said Friday – even though prosecutors recommended that the frisky Frenchman be let off. The lewd allegations cap a year-long investigation into wild sex parties attended by the 64-year-old ex-chief of the International Monetary Fund, who is being charged along with 13 other accused prostitute peddlers…Strauss-Kahn, who is no stranger to lurid accusations, said he didn’t know that the women who participated in the saucy soirees were prostitutes. “He neither aided nor assisted prostitution,” said Frederique Baulieu, one of Strauss-Kahn’s lawyers. “In very calm and serene fashion, we await a public debate that will show the absurdity of this decision.” Strauss-Kahn’s lawyers have acknowledged that the once-powerful pol attended “libertine” gatherings – but that he was in the dark about whether the women who showed up were being paid.
