My deepest sympathies towards his family. I actually worked with him. That is not to mean I knew him (I think - it was never a direct rapport), so that's not to mean I knew him or even met him however I did recieve his work. Wall Street is a cruel place and this posting's thread proves that out. My thoughts, whichever monster finds humour in all of this should be considered as such, a monster. Remember this stupid monster, one day your ticket will come up too.
Dick Fuld needs John Thain. They should get acquinted, before they go to jail. At least, as bunk-mates, they stand a marginal chance of not being F*....
@41 Perfect observation. Let me add that he deserves to be investigated. His latest interviews remind me of Lay at Enron - - he just does not get it.
@2 Could not have said it better myself. Greenspan is probably the worse central banker we ever had to deal with. He simply did not get it. How unfortanate, even wide-clops can't correct this mess.
@wideclopper get a job you are annoying and irrelevent to this site
My thoughts - watch out for the CAD banks. They are just waiting to swoop in like vultures. Through blind luck (or risk management), they are the only banks in the world capable of doing this. Just wondering, would it not be hilarious that TD Bank picks up Citi for a song?
LEH collapse is entirely due to it's arrogant boss. Dick Fuld simply overstated his self-worth and that of an independant I-Bank. I am told, by an RBC guy who eye-balled their book, that he was very simply deluded. Do hope things work out for all my friends over at LEH.
Value of CFA equals what you do. Sell side it is priceless - - go for the pain. Buy side - - it is completely worthless. Sadly us buy guys talk to hundreds of people, do you honestly think we ask if they got a CFA?
dollar cad M&A will completely disappear, there is nothing left to buy. It's all taken. I feel sorry for the cad banks, they have nothing to do now except chase nothing.
Latest rumour BL ... Drexel Burnham Lambert are shorting MER. I think Mike is finally out of jail.
Where is Mark (fish boy) Hunter when we need him? Clearly the loss is not big enough.
MER has sadly turned into a train-wreck. Very sad, their FX was pretty good. Oh well, thanks for coming out ... we have lovely parting gifts lads.
I actually met the jerk, John Devaney. Arrogance personified. I met up on his boat, believe it or not he called it "Forward Carry"(Or something arrogant like that). Lectured me for about half an hour how carry trades work. I said nothing, except, what happens when the market turns. This jerk deserves to go down in flames. geo
My thoughts, cut the hands off short-sellers, better still cut the hands off all traders, better still cut the hands off all capitalists ... hmmm running out of scape-goats for the economy
InBev is a Brazilian disguised as a Belgian - look at their mgmt structure. Ruthless cost cutters, so bye bye corporate jets, their will be no need for them in Louven

My thoughts, imprison all oil speculators. Sell a capitalist a rope and he will hang himself. I.Lenin
This post is dying mates. Instead of bourbon try scotch lads. In all seriousness, markets have puked - deal with it. LEH is gone, thanks for coming out. The sad reality is that people don't want to deal with a sinking ship. Just deal (or don't) with it. geo
Allianz told Gross to stop scr*wing LEH
Can't wait until Home Land Security figures out there is no more need for terror activity monitoring. All they have to do is buy their way in via third party agents. Do you honestly think these people even care about ROR? Shameful, they should have questioned this deal large. Along with lots of other shady deals, all based on desperation. geo
