    > Why do people have jobs that > compel them to fly? To meet the women, of course. We get to sample women from all around the world. That, and the money.

The layout isn't too bad - it's the italics for the comments that blows. And let's face it - not that the stories are bad, but some of us visit Dealbreaker just for the comments.

Just a quick suggestion - could you please link the "N Comments" snippet on the index page to the comments pages? I almost always reach to click on the "N Comments" link and then realize that I have to click on the title. It's a bit of a pain.

Well, the problem is that in the rest of the world, calculus, advanced statistics and linear algebra are being taught in high school. I had my high-school education in India, and we had calculus and differential equations for our 11th and 12th grades. The same goes for most Asian countries (Japan, China, South Korea etc.), most of Europe (esp. Eastern Europe), Russia, Israel etc. The problem is, I am worried about educating my kids in the US mostly because I do not want them to grow up ignorant in a system that is not designed to challenge them adequately. In fact, in most of the rest of the world, kids learn advanced math at earlier ages than in the US and as someone with a strong mathematical background, this just scares me. No, math is not the only subject that is important but as our society becomes more and more advanced, it is increasingly likely that a lot of the better jobs out there require more than a perfunctory understanding of math. And no child left behind is fine, but it should not be at the expense of the best and the brightest out there. Cheers.
