EP! Welcome back!
8:31 - Israel's history is about 60 years, dipshit. That's not very long. The good thing about Israel, though, is they have a lot less douchebag back office blue bottomed grundle whiffers.
well, I didn't turn 10,000 from my bar mitzvah into an audited sum of 1,000,0000 pretax.
Not responsible for lost or stolen articles: "After graduation, I plan to... pursue a career in an investment banking or international finance position. I am also working towards fluency in Chinese in addition to obtaining CFA designation." Sounds like her English could use a little more work before she starts hammering on Chinese.
2:07b - 2:13 - just make sure you get those trades cleared and strike the NAVs by 4 pm, k?
EP - you should start asking for 2 and 20 if people aren't going to give you credit for Beta on your posts. . .
I think the hilarity of Bess' post is a direct function of when ones family got out of Eastern Europe. I'm guessing the Levins of New Jersey were definitely in the Catskills pre-1945. I wish this post could be funny for me (and my family).
4:05PM : please tell me that you understand that mean is different from median is different from mode. Average?
EP - do you have a conscience? Seriously, less than 73 days until the CFA exam. The only bigger distraction would be if you turned up in Boston, say around 7 pm on Saturday for dinner with me. On second thought, would you?
@4:33 - Do you have any concept of risk?
. . .and you've been injured in a car accident or slip and fall. . .
Da nu. . .
Carney, Good Cartoon, bad news about the comments. . .
Hey bareback, is there any chance you work in structured finance?
gorking? holy shit.
Give The Magazine A Chance!
You can't polish a turd. Kudos to the nice kids at Portfolio for trying. I hope Gary Weiss isn't about to suggest that we should sit in on the afternoon critique session at the at the Bumblebutt Budding Business Journalist Seminar because these new voices need to heard. The onus is on them to produce interesting content - it's a business. How long would Gary have us to wait for them to get their shit together? Can he talk to my boss so I can be judged on my efforts rahter than my results?
Carney - This is an improvement compared with what they did to Paul Khlebnikov, the previous editor of Forbes in Russia. http://www.projectklebnikov.org/aboutpaul.html
Brilliant, except for the fact that Mayer Amschel Rothschild lived in Frankfurt. Try Nathan Rothschild, sent to London by his father. Stupid New York Magazine.
So this scientific study asked a bunch of female college students? I wonder if they used the hopfully planned careers of the males the women currently date or the woman's imagination of what it might be like to date someone wiht a career in finance? I'd be interested to see how this turns out when they are out of school and actually dating men with careers of any kind.
Do we know how the rest of their date went?
