you don't look a day over 35, baby!
@headlesshorse- try reading posts by bess levin.
Fred Goodwin probably called in the bomb threat.
@4- that's sallie krawcheck. @3- hi, thanks for information we all got yesterday.
@10- first post the day, pal.
of course Lewis would do it.
We apologize for what has now been five months of truly dreadful performance – by far the worst of our careers. The fact that it has coincided with the worst stock market downturn since the Great Depression and that we have outperformed the market is no excuse. We have not done our job, which is not only to make money during good times, but also to protect our assets during bad times. With the benefit of hindsight, our spectacular performance in September lulled us into believing that if the market continued to decline, which was our expectation, the stocks we owned were cheap enough that they’d hold their own and, in addition, our short book would protect us. Consequently, we were bold rather than cautious – and paid the price.
"Clearly his performance was an issue." wouldn't you say telling his clients to sell BAC was a good call?
@30- seriously? how about http://dealbreaker.com/2009/01/live-blogging-thains-fate.php or http://dealbreaker.com/2009/01/john-thain-to-get-canned-for-h.php
@1- did it really take you 2 months to notice?
@1 and bess would write opening bell under a different name cause why?
"incredibly chewed out version of a NY post article." wtf does that even mean?
@3 can you leave unfunny jokes comments elsewhere and leave charlie be?
@12/13- i'm sorry, what did bess say that was insensitive? she seems disturbed by both events, and merely brought in a topical reference to discuss walmart. take your self-righteous indignation elsewhere.
@133- you are a moron. the line does not refer to what is going on in mumbai (which occurred after this was posted), but the whole pilgrims v native americans (ie indians) encounter. grow a brain cell.
@1- get over yourself.
"dealbreaker sucks...this shit is everywhere....bess come on" 34 sucks and is apparently illiterate. learn to read a byline, retard.
@5- fluid = i have no idea what i'm talking about but i'm going to throw a bunch of stuff to the wall and see what sticks.
@2- obviously you, since you got so, um, worked up about it.
@20- um, there were a mere 2 articles today that referenced cnbc and bloomberg.
