The only solution out of this mess is vigorous economic growth. That will reduce unemployment and allow people to pay their mortgages and go shopping. If other countries can grow at 10% there is no reason why the US cannot do it. It is just a matter of policy and incentives.

I never understood why it is Ken Lewis who is at fault when his lawyers told him it is Ok to give the bonuses. It was wild times with banks failing left and right. He did the best for BAC to survive it and then thrive. admin http://invetrics.com

It looks like something worth considering. One potential drawback is that when their insurance premiums move up, is when they will need the hedge funds the most, but they'll need to adjust their lending to these funds lower. admin http://invetrics.com
