I hope all the typos aren't copied and pasted from the excerpt.
Even better....apparently you can collect unemployment at the same time you collect a NYPD pension.
@20 FTW
Where is this place called Far that went to? Oh, you meant TOO far.
Vince Cable is a sweet porn star name.
I saw this last night. John Thain's teeth are disgusting in HD. He should have spent some of that office renovation money on a good dentist.
Yes, as a 'justice' seeking taxpayer, I want to support card check and the expansion of union power, because I really want to pay more for stuff and see more powerful unions. Cause that's always good for the taxpayer. But I'm guessing that the supporters of the group behind this don't pay that much in taxes anyway.
Barry O: "That's not the Rod Blagojevich that I know"
@2 The funds have different strategies. It's not a hard concept to grasp.
7- Simons is there because he is successful and that makes the marxists mad.
I guarantee one of the big guys is ripping down butts like nobody's business.
37- If your dad was really in Medallion for 10+ years and then had all his money put in RIEF, he is still WAAAAAY ahead of the game so I'm not gonna feel too bad for him.
8- Hey punk, have a little respect for those that laid down their lives for this country. While I agree with your feelings about Iraq's gratitude, using the word 'kids' is hugely disrespectful. If you bothered to do a google search on the average age of soldiers killed in Iraq, you will find that it is in the range of 27-30.
4- Yeah! Rethuglicans stupid! Democrats smart!
BHO is so full of shit it is infuriating. He bashes the Street and Hedge funds, while at the same time he gleefully seeks and accepts campaign donations from the same people he demonizes. Funny how it looks like Jim, George, and Ken the hedge fund managers are being protected by the Dems. Wonder why? From the MotherJones Blog: Oversight of Hedge Funds/Top Dem Donors Postponed Until After Election On Friday, the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee announced that a hearing scheduled for Thursday, October 16 on the role of hedge funds in the current financial crisis would be postponed until after the election. The committee, chaired by Henry Waxman (D-Calif.), says the postponement is to "accommodate the schedules of witnesses." Fine. But several of the hedge fund execs asked to testify at the hearing are big Dem donors who the party might not want to embarrass before the election. And by big Dem donors, I mean BIG Dem donors. Here are the numbers for the 2008 election cycle (excluding 527 contributions): * John A. Paulson, President, Paulson & Co., Inc: $86,974, $43,400 of that to Democrats * George Soros, Chairman, Soros Fund Management, LLC : $111,190, $110,150 of that to Democrats * Philip A. Falcone, Senior Managing Director, Harbinger Capital Partners: $0 * James Simons, President, Renaissance Technologies, LLC: $117,050, $105,050 of it to Democrats (only $2,000 to Republicans—the rest went to a PAC. * Kenneth C. Griffin, Chief Executive Officer and President, Citadel Investment Group: $70,100, $60,750 of it to Democrats That's $385,314 worth of 2008 election cycle donations from five witnesses (one of whom didn't give anything). $319,350 of it, or 82.9 percent, went to Democrats.
I'm sure the reason this hearing got pushed until after the election has nothing to do with the piles of cash these guys have shoveled to the Democrats.
@9- Who are you, Barney Frank? Yeah, it's too bad how those numbnuts on the WSJ ed page weren't banging the drum about the pending troubles at Fannie and Freddie for years. If only someone there had warned us. You may resume tea-bagging Krugman now.
@94 Who knows what is going to happen with the rules regarding short selling financials? Kramer just said this could be financial terrorism.
LEH ouch!
Obana and the rest of the Socialists love Wall Streeters and their big paychecks though right? It's great how they come for your campaign donations and then villify the fact that you are succesful.
