DealBreaker Weekend Edition

Seems like alot of people check DB over the weekend, maybe enough to rationalize at least one or two posts over the weekend. Figure it can't take more than 20-30 minutes of combined effort of scanning the wsj/etc...

Thoughts?

This isn't beyond the range of possibility. I know a lot of people check over the weekend, especially when they are working over the weekend.

But it would take some work to set up. The possibility of me getting Bess to post on a Saturday approaches zero.

One interim fix might be to use the forums on weekends. They're easy to use and underutilized right now. Readers could keep the site going while the editors are slacking off.

JC... Please consider this... most of us are junkies and have to escape from the kids ecta for a reason... swinging by your site on weekends hoping for something to be reported is one of those events.

Why not designate someone like Anal as weekend editor... and let him post? You would be surprised at the depth of boredom on weekends by most of us.

Guest,

That's not a bad idea. Maybe we can select a regular commenter/reader to be the weekend editor. Perhaps a vote for best commenter or something could help decide this.

Like I said earlier, a good place to start that kind of thing might be these here forums. They are extremely underutilized, especially considering the fact that we can promote these on the front page and basically make any post here a DealBreaker post.

I wish commenters with off-topic but highly timely ideas would post in this space so we could direct people here. At this point DealBreaker is as much about the community as it is about the original posts. I learn new things every day from our comments.

2:37,

Out side of arguing with JC about Muni's as a hobby, I happen to think this place could be developed into an interesting location on the net and I like what JC and Crew have built here.

I helped build a site like this once... years a go... you need to turn on some kind of communication between signed in guests, so they leave messages to each other... so people can exchange info with out you tracking... directly...

also... the whole IP tracking thing... yes you know where I or anyone else is posting from. It would take seconds for anyone to back track the posting data if they wanted to build a widget in house.

Technically your not allowed to stitch the posts together... and you know that, but as the forehead slapper says... DOH...

At another level, how hard is it to do a batch drop of all IP addresses on a google map of your posters and cross link that to locations on the globe... and well... it is early/late/wrong time zone...

peace

@4:38a

How about you stop contaminating these forums with your back-office gibberish? Geez.

Maybe a Bess bar/brunch review would be solid

Starting this weekend we do a weekend rundown (someone come up with a catchier title), see where it goes...
