Not Possible or true, Tandem hasn't started trading yet

I heard Tandem started trading, lost a lot of money, then stopped and tried to 're-launch' so they could go back to investors and try to raise money...and neglect to tell them....They might have changed their name or something? I don't have the whole story.

Jun 26, 2008 12:22PM

Nah, Joe Petri was some management meatball at HSBC when i worked there, he is not a trader, I think he came from sales maybe? Just another shmo who got pushed out of an investment bank and trying to start a hedge fund...I'm not sure about the timing, to say the least!

Jun 26, 2008 4:36PM

And he is from HSBC....that says enough.

Who was that guy who said 'quit being a hater' responding to somebody reporting a hedge fund blowup? Um, what is this thread supposed to be about, idiot? The whole 'Dealbreaker' board is about dishing wall street and hedge fund dirt. Not 'Yay, this hedge fund is real cool, the guys in it are da bomb'. Why don't you go cry, what do you work at that failing fund, whichever one it was?

The Agile Group is a fund of funds in Colorado -- but their website has disappeared. This was Neal Greenberg's operation...did they have money with Madoff?

Is the Agile Group completely insolvent? Is legal action being taken against Neal Greenberg for failure to perform adequate due diligence? I assume he has acquired substantial personal assets over the years, and hopefully investors will be able to make claims against him.

FYI, Joe Petri was the 30 Year Bond Trader for Merrill and then went on to run MM, FX, Muni. Repo and Trsy for Merrill before creating Summit Capital. After Summit, he went on to HSBC. Joe is a great leader and very well respected market veteran.
