petition to get rid of EP and Muffie

due to the lack of pageviews (without having to click the article to view pageviews), this is a petition to stop EP and Muffie (one and the same?) posting. While posts by Bess are idiotic, they are usually fairly amusing, so people read it for fun. Posts by EP and muffie are just awful (if they're not funny, at least make them intelligent). Bring back Carney! Either post something funny (Bess) or insightful (Carney).

Both "Muffie" and EP are pathetic. The whole "Muffie" thing is just plain stupid and rediculous. DB is really going downhill with all this pathetic nonsense.

I like EP. Sure, she has her faults, but she not only posts, she gets in there and comments on the reactions to her posts. Sometimes at 2:00 am on a week-end morning after she's had three martinis! Muffie can be funny if you realize it's just a send-up.

More actual news would be nice, but let Carney take a vacation!

Sorry folks, you're stuck with me until Carney gets back. No matter how successful your petition, you've got a bit of a wait. It would really be unfortunate if something happened to Carney while he was in, what I think we all will admit are very dangerous, parts of Southeast Asia. Then I might have to take over permanently!

Actually, that sounds like fun!

Be that as it may, perhaps a more constructive use of your time, given the futility of a petition to have me impeached or whatever, might be your articulating the sort of material you believe you are being denied by the offense of my presence.

I suppose the lazy malcontent might just whine "Carney, Carney," like some mewing stroke victim or something, but on the off chance that you are more resourced than that, why not endeavor to outline your expectations?

I'm happy to pen missives about obscure SEC initiatives, if that makes you happy. Or perhaps you would prefer deep discussion on the relationship (or lack thereof) between quantum field theory and consciousness? Or maybe I just haven't included enough penis jokes.

Here's your chance. The request line is open. (God help us all).

1) don't try to emulate Bess's style (which, to be honest, while amusing, is plain juvenile/sophomoric).

2) articles such as the one on Alliance Data are better b/c they don't have a pompous style to them, provide intelligent (and not necessarily sarcastic) commentary to commoditized news, and often provide a differing opinion than is the market view.

3) Pointing out how above-referenced commoditized news has been flawed in past ("The matter is so tangled you can almost forgive the Wall Street Journal for quipping naively back in March...")

4) the more arcane the style of writing, despite its content, the less likely people will read it (even if it is good substance)

5) and to reiterate, the arrogant/pompousness is a turn-off to even bothering to read through the full article. your style is more akin to Carney's style of analysis...not Bess's

@4:32 - the irony in continuing the arrogant/pretending-to-be-smart comments - your use of the word "recalcitrant" makes no sense in that context. guest@2:23 is not "stubbornly resistant to authority or control" (see http://www.thefreedictionary.com/recalcitrant for your own reference)

I see you were selective in your citation...

"1: obstinately defiant of authority or restraint 2 a: difficult to manage or operate b: not responsive to treatment"

Let's see...

"This would be instructive if you weren't such a difficult to manage yahoo."

"This would be instructive if you weren't such a defiant yahoo."

"This would be instructive if you weren't such a not responsive to treatment yahoo."

I fail to see the problem.

Should have gone to Stanford, I guess.

Really, you guys are asking for EP to leave because of her pomposity? I seem to recall that Carney would randomly pepper his posts with references to Ludwig von Mises, and it doesn't get much more pompous than that.

let's not change the subject, dear "Pro_Forma" (EP). the subject of this post/forum is EP/muffie. the general consensus on muffie is unanimous - her posts are useless. EP...your posts are worthless too, but your "friends" (aka anonymous guest postings by...err, you) give this forum the appearance of disagreement. when is your MONTH-long vacation over? you indicated in an earlier post it wasn't over before Carney came back from vacation, so you're telling me Carney has a longer vacation than you do? again, curious...

"ep - Although you are said to be quite attractive, in profile you look like a man."

My terrible hidden secret is that I have a hunchback and a club foot. I have concealed this fact through efforts no less remarkable than those required to convince the American people that Roosevelt could walk and Democrats that Michael Dukakis' name should have been within 200 miles of a ballot. And thank you very much for revealing and agitating my secret shame.

I am entirely unqualified to comment on Muffie. Even if I were, I would defer to her. She's quite capable of defending herself.

The details of the benefits I have accrued over two plus years with my present employer are beyond the purview of this inquiry. Still, I will say that I am not a vacation fan. It should suffice further that I was presented with a "use it or lose it" option. I think the timing was quite perfect, given the markets. Nay?

Alas, while being ringside for the petition has been fun, there has been but one half-way serious attempt to articulate the sort of literary greatness that the malcontents expect, and the paranoid imaginings of 'guest' are starting to make my teeth itch. (And not in that "special way," either).

One last note: I could care less about pageviews, but since that is the metric that seems important, it is no secret at all where the posts on DB rank. Some other 'guest' argued that less than half of mine appear in the top ranks. I suppose I will have to live with that, but it is a far cry from the case the same three 'guests' make here.

Anyhow, enough of that. I have to go compose exactly the sort of posts that will annoy guests 1, 2 and 3, and distract them from their miserable jobs on the Frontier of capitalism. Have fun, gang!

This is retarded. Where to begin (in stream of consciousness, just be forewarned):

1. Posting as "guest" is one thing. Criticizing/accusing EP (and friends) as posting as guest in her defense is another, epitome of hypocrisy, altogether.

2. This conversation (and I'm loathe to refer to it as such) has turned into one big clusterfuck circular reference. Comments (and "responses") purely for the sake of running one's mouth abound.

3. Conspiracy theorists be damned, you should familiarize yourselves with Occam's Razor (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occam's_Razor)

4. For what its worth, I appreciate EP, to varying degrees depending on my mood, and the tone of the piece I may be reading at that time. Yes, her language, structure, etc may, at times be above the grasp of some readers, but sometimes it helps to focus for a few seconds to understand a prescient or well-argued point, as opposed to the delicious nonsense that is often Bess' posts. (Watch someone will criticize me for speaking against Bess. Learn the english language f-tards, I like Bess's work too).

This all seems so stupid. EP is moonlighting, on vacation, and helping out. So obviously it is not a permanent gig for her. (Or for you the reader).

Second, anyone familiar with her writing on her own blog would have a greater appreciation for her abilities in both analyzing financial issues and describing events and people that surround those issues. You don't get that fully from her posts here, and understandably so.

But the premise of the petition is absolutely ridiculous. The Muffie posts, and written by another person, are a bit tired but apparently a long running thing and if you dislike them, as I do, you just skip over them.

But one has to be a special type of kindergartner to dislike EP's voluntary contributions. Obviously some are confusing depth with pomposity and the paying attention is hurting their brains.
