Why does the Fed continue to lie about inflation?

Core inflation in most countries e.g. Australia is running at 4.6% and mortgage rates there are at 9.25%.

If rates were 9.25% in the US - it would take 25 years to recover.

@11.50 - He was a cheat. The financial community thought he was a managerial genius and gave GE a super multiple...just another manipulator.

Now he is trying to re-write his CEO history.

Similar to Greenspan. He learnt well from Ann Rynd that honestly has no value at all. She was a disgusting person with a poisonous philosophy that entrenched itself in CEO's and Wall Street and hedge fund community.

Lie about underlying inflation.

All the managements comments to the market during this debacle were "misleading and false."

Will the SEC bring an action against management?

All those BSC conference calls were not an accurate reflection of what was going on...the fact they resorted to the "chaos trade" meant they knew they were in real trouble.

Seems to me they deliberately misled the market.

Yeah Paulson has been committed to the strong US dollar for the past 2 years...overseeing the greatest run on the US$ in history.

He is a fool and he had a critical role in Bear Stearns and tries to undo the moral hazard he created.

where is David Rocker and Marc Cohodes in the Short Players Hall of Fame?

They are two of the very best. Rockers struggle with Iomega, Lernout & Hauspie and AOL were some of the finest.

Ron Paul has consistently lambasted the Fed chairmen (Span and BenB).

Bush is telling everyone wiat till the effects of the tax rebate take hold. What world does he live in - that was spent in the gas tank and energy and food bills 3 months ago.

Bottom Keeps Falling out...any solutions?
