Agree with 5:15. Muffie tries to be funny like Bess and interesting as EP, and it falls flat on both.
I think Muffie should be more like my favorite fictional female personality, Melissa Moody (http://longorshortcapital.com/melissa-moodys-ratings-alternative.htm)

Actually 9:43 would be right if their was a fund guarantee on the term loan, which many sponsors are kosher with, but I assume Schwarzman would rather sacrifice his first born rather than put a guarantee on one of his funds.

10:45 that's not the best comparison.
I. You get L+350 (whatever the cap/flex is) and hopefully, if it's a decent credit, you get 100% of your principal in 5-7 years. Or if things get better, get refied in the next 3-4 years.
II. You get L+75-125 (decent ballpark), you lose 10-15 pts off the loan (which is a real cash loss). You are free to make more crappy commitments to other deals left to hang.

@ ep,
since when were bankers "real creators of wealth"? We do appreciate any compliments we can get though. On that point though, would you rather have a $100 loan to a crackhead, or would you rather have a $75 loan to Steve Crab Hands, who then loans to the crackhead.
@Anal_yst
You're right, I forgot to add in the scenario III, where you sell at 20-25 pts discount

@12:50
Why don't we just have rub & tugs in Citi branches? That would make me not care that JPM has ATMs on every corner.

Beautiful strategy. Let's get supporters by pissing them off. I thought you usually get supporters by giving away cookies or brownies.

Guys,
It's a $14Bn deal, even if they decided to put in 50% equity it would be tough to raise $7bn in this market. So since there would be no serious bids, RBS doesn't want to open up the books for non-serious bidders.

Why people still bother arguing with Random Banker is beyond me. Although I would love to ship all of the people who think like Random Banker to Cuba, there is no right or wrong in this argument. Do you beleive in Locke or Hobbes? Are you a fan of Marx or Smith? No matter how many facts, statistics, or anecdotes, either side throws out, neither Random Banker or anyone else is going to change their positions.
Just fing give up already of trying to convince the other side. You're all more likely to convince Bess, EP, and Muffie to have a 3-way than Random to beleive in personal responsibility
