I love this. Average Joe clamors about Wall St bonuses and then cries about New York's budget deficit. I LOVE it. You can't write this stuff.

I agree with EP. No private investor will show up to this circus unless given highly preferential treatment in their investment with certain irrefutable terms that the government cannot override retroactively.
The rules are being changed daily. Obama is making this up as he goes along. It doesn't matter how smart you are if the government snaps it's fingers and changes the rules of the game.

I'm glad these guys are standing up to the White House. By refusing to cooperate with a bully government they are forcing these liberal central planners out from the dark conference rooms and into public courtrooms giving everyone a transparent look into what socialism means.
Scary stuff my friends...

This isn't really all that ground shaking. Virtually any prime broker that's still in business will be itching to handle any new accounts. Granted, those 200 accounts are pissed...

Reading about RenTec, GS etc only reinforces my unfortunate stereotype that the Jewish guys pulling the levers at the top control more than you know. It's a conspiracy I tell you!!

Interesting parallel between Dubai's removal of the finance minister and a certain CEO being removed at GM. Where's the legal precedent for that one??

WTF is she thinking?

Thanks, I have a SPLITTING headache now.
Welcome to creeping socialism. You'd swear Frank never heard of voting rights, a board of directors or shareholder activism.

Some of these congressmen are unbelievable. Asking questions that are WAY out of their depth and then trying to pin Lewis to the wall with a Yes of No answer. Go back to the kiddie pool...
Yes, $12B in accelerating losses stung. Yes, we still thought it would work. No, I don't know what I would have done in December with the knowledge I have now.
Tell me congressman/woman, did you know the market would tank BEFORE it actually tanked??

Actually #1, I'm definitely not the smartest guy in the room.
The politicians asking these questions is the thing that bothers me. They're trying to pander to voters by asking stupid questions they could never hope to understand the answer to. THEN, when they don't get the opportunity to make an executive look silly they ask another stupid question like, "Did you really think taking a $12B hit was a good idea?"
