Of course I am a jackass, I admire "asset strippers" such as The Blacktone Group and KKR. At least I can say they have an "honest" economic model.
"We are going to take your company private, and overleverage it with debt. Then we are going to sell pieces of it off to pay off this debt, and raid its healthy pension fund. During this process, we will also send in efficiency experts to downsize the amount of workers, and further cut costs by not investing in R&D."
Long live PE, the nectar of endowments, foundations and pension funds...

I agree with the flat tax. CPAs and tax lawyers should find another line of work. Steve Forbes is a genius.
On another note, I am so psyched! I won an eBay auction for a Phish ticket to see the boys at Post-Gazette Pavillion in Burgettstown, PA. I can't wait.
My two purposes are to see Phish and find a future wife. If you think I am the only 30+ year-old guy doing this, I am not. We had a discussion in a chat room, and we all agreed on this point. Why in the HELL get married to someone our own age, when we darn know well we will want someone later who is younger?? Thus, we are going to be hitting on the college-age hippies.
And if it all works out and I get married in the near future, the name of my first daughter will be Erin Callan Powell. :D Phish is back, and if you want to get hooked up with a hippie girl, go to a Phish show. And trust me, they are of lower maintenance than a Wall Street babe. Does anyone have any Jones Beach extra tickets to sell at face value?????

No, the hippies we like do shower, and are very well educated. And this is another song in honor of Erin M. Callan, who is taking a five month leave from CS, and will not be missed at all...she is preparing her legal defense in rehab, most likely.

Yeah, you are the same guys who need to rely on the US taxpayer to bail out the financial institutions that most likely employ you, and paid for your "bonus."
Go back to your cubicles, as I must likely have equity in you as a shareholder... :p
And PHUCK Erin M. Callan...she is a liar and helped destroy LEH. I can't wait to see what she'll be wearing for her "perp walk."

Wall Street mentality: let's package subprime/Alt-A loans into CDOs, have Moody's and S&P rate them AAA, and spread the risk to others...
WOW, talk about intelligent!! No common sense at all...and to think that the lower tranches defaulting wouldn't effect the quality of the CDOs.
You come up with things so complex you don't even know what you were selling...how INTELLIGENT.
That is why I stick to PRIVATE EQUITY. :)

As an individual of Dakota Sioux Indian descent, I am concerned. Founded as an Indian school, I hope it doesn't affect the Native American students pertaining to financial aid.
And the school has investments with The Blackstone Group...capital calls must be drivin' them crazy!
The Blackstone Group, it is not a rock band...it's PE.

According to the latest stats on the student body, 2.9% of students attending Dartmouth College are American Indian.
And to be considered an American Indian, if one was to accept the standard of the Bureau of Indian Affairs, one must be of 25% descent. Other tribes have a lower threshold, but my tribe, the Sisseton-Wahpeton Dakota Sioux of Lake Traverse Indian Reservation of South Dakota has the 25% threshhold.
I am descended on my mother's side, who is unfortunately no longer here. She passed away from cancer several years ago. :(

The husband of Maxine Waters owns a Mercedes dealership in Los Angeles. She isn't impoverished like her other constituents. I am told Fred Sanford is running for Congress against her in 2010; Rollo will be his campaign manager.

That would be Congresswoman Nydia Velasquez.
I am sorry, but Gary Ackerman is greatest House member representing New York City. I like his blunt honesty.

My bad, I stand corrected. Her husband was a Mercedes-Benz salesman at a dealership in Beverly Hills.
Unlike CEOs and other upper tiers of management of Wall Street firms, I admit, I WAS WRONG. :D

It amazes me these members of Congress flame the CEOs of these firms that most likely donated to their electoral campaigns last year, and passed the legislation that caused this credit crisis in the first place.
And what is wrong with Erin Burnett???

Man, one must see the coverage of this story in Indiana. She is allowed to stay in her Geist Reservoir house until June.
People around these parts show no sympathy towards her. They do feel sorry for the kids, however. And she filed for divorce on December 30, which does raise eyesbrows as well.
Eh, she had as much experience being a CFO than Erin Callan did. They can be cellmates.

@59
Low self-worth??? Attacking others??? Belittling them to inflate oneself???
I thought that was the purpose of this forum!! j/k
Does not matter if you are "satisfied" in your job, are you "secured" in your job that matters.
You must work for GS... :D
You are the one with the "I am all that, and then some" attitude.
Maybe if you were Henry Kravis or Stephen Schwarzman, then I would listen to you...but you aren't.
Blndbnkr, what a funny handle. You must have been involved in the securitization of CDOs, I bet. :D
