Anyone on McCain's latest? Guy touts his green credentials and global warming stance, now wants to abolish the gas tax so people drive more. Guy really doesn't know much about economics.

agreed. the barriers to entry in the current system let them jack up the prices right now.

i've had mamajuana - basically a bottle filled with leaves that the locals peddle on tourists, telling them it will improve the sex life. supposed to fill it with rum and red wine, let it ferment a bit, then take shots. improves the sex life of local dominicans bc they have more money.

really? nobody likes taxes but do you actually think the irs should just let people get off with not filing until it catches them?
pretty sure blade can afford an accountant to take care of this without wasting too much of his money/time.

c'mon. you need somebody to make the case that economists on the gas tax proposal are right?
are you questioning (1) when you decrease the price of something (gas), demand rises or (2) when you remove a tax on something with (at least short-term) inelastic demand, the price won't drop by much?
this isn't analysis on subprime cdos by wall st. economists, its econ 101 supply and demand.

I love how bankers suddenly say how great people end up after being fired whenever these job cuts hit. I don't doubt that some people are better off, but come on. If it sucks that much, why don't you quit today are get a jump start on that next, more rewarding career?

carney, you're not really a global warming denier are you? i figured you'd be a supporter of a market-based scheme to deal with a major environmental externality. this is one (of an unfortunately small amount) of mccain's economic proposals that makes a lot of sense.

thanks for that link exposing the truth. your extremely credible source really made me think twice about my support for any cap and trade system.

no problem with you criticizing obama, and jindal does deserve more praise than he gets. but where are you seeing obama playing up identity politics and racial guilt? i think it's pretty clear that he's tried to stay away from that (and done a fairly good job) throughout the campaign.

like i said, not necessarily luck. just that the fact that he has done well in a place with tens of thousands of others doesn't prove that it isn't luck.
and i've got no problem with him wanting to get paid as much as he can - who wouldn't. but i've also got no problem with the shareholders wanting to tie his pay to performance. both sides want to protect their own ass.
