An Elegy For Thirty Broad

Word comes today that the New York Stock Exchange will start shutting down its youngest trading floor. Located at 30 Broad Street, the exchanges fifth floor was opened at the height of the internet boom and has served as the trading home for shares of Citigroup and the Big Board exchange itself.
In truth, 30 Broad probably won’t be much missed. Its straight rows of trading stations lacked some of chaotic romance of the four older floors. It always seemed a bit too well-planned to fit in with the other floors. And so it makes some sense that it will be the first to fall to electronic trading.
Have any special, humiliating or funny memories of the trading room at 30 Broad? Leave them in comments below or email us at tips(at)dealbreaker(dot)com.
