Bonus stories continue to pour in. This morning's Wall Street Journal carries the story of two firms who have come in with very different estimates of bonuses.
Bonuses will rise 15% to 20%, according to estimates in a study to be released this week by Options Group, a New York-based executive-search firm. Another survey, by compensation consultants Johnson Associates Inc., puts the bonus increase at 10% to 15%.
The safe-bet is a rise of 15% to 20% since last year the average bonus increase was 18%. If the numbers actually come in on the lowside, that could cause some turmoil on Wall Street, and likely lots of resume polishing.
