So this is how the Financial Times broke the story of Northern Rock's potential deal this morning: "Shares in Northern Rock jumped 10 per cent on Wednesday after it emerged that JC Flowers, the private equity group, had secured about £15bn of funding that could be used for a takeover."
And you know who seems bitter? Bloomberg.
"JC Flowers, the U.S. buyout firm set up by former Goldman Sachs Group Inc. banker Christopher Flowers, has arranged about 15 billion pounds of financing for a possible purchase of Northern Rock, the Financial Times reported today, without saying where it got the information."
Seems awful mean of the FT, right? Surely they should have told us who their sources were.
