How does the Wall Street Journal's star reporter Kate Kelly get the details for these film-noir style descriptions of the the events at the highest levels of the innermost sanctums of some of our most secretive Wall Street institutions? We'll admit that we're totally jealous of these stories, which is why we mock them with phrases like "Pulitzer fodder." Our own versions of this kind of reporting typically take place in bars and involve not-so-high level Wall Streeters.
Over at Daily Intel they turn the tactic back on Kelly, recreating what they imagine is the editorial process that goes on behind the scenes of these pieces. "Can we have Blankfein gazing into the distance here and chomping thoughtfully on a cigar?" the Daily Intel's version of Kelly asks her editor.
Oh, Kate! We totally would have said yes.
