Much like the industry it sort of covers, Portfolio has taken it up the tailpipe of late, laying off a gaggle of staffers last month and reducing the number of issues it'll put out each year. BUT! The mag will not be taking a page from Morgan Stanley, Barclays, and Lazard's no party playa book. Page Six reports an upcoming soiree at the '21' club proceeds at a pace, which is a gigantic relief. According to the rag, "We planned this before the economy took a downturn. It's not good times all around, but we feel it's still an important topic to discuss."
