Power Over Sand, Water and Green with the Golf Cart Hovercraft

If you have been daydreaming about owning a hovercraft since you first saw one on the "Jetsons" as a kid, you are in luck. Hammacher Schlemmer is making that dream come true. And the best part about this not-so-little toy? It's all grown up and ready to take to the green. Because this isn't just any hovercraft, it's a Golf Cart Hovercraft and it has been designed specifically for you to drive over sand, water (yes you read that right) and practically any other part of the course.

According to Hammacher Schlemmer, the futuristic golf mobile "is powered by a 65-hp twin-cylinder Hirth engine, [and] its nine-blade axial-flow ducted fan propels the craft up to 45 mph and 9" off the ground." The idea here is that no matter where you take this baby, you won't be harming the grass, so no more parking 30 odd feet from the green. The cart will comfortably hold four passengers and the roof lifts up if you would prefer to enjoy the sun. Made up mostly of fiberglass composite and urethane foam, it's approved by the United States Coast Guard for use on water, and the combination makes it a lean 600 pounds. Check out the video to see just how cool this thing really is and we think you'll be laying out the $58,000 in no time to pick one of these bad boys up. Turns out the 2013 version of the Hovercraft is almost as cool as the one George had. Now if only they could make one that flies.
