But five fewer in the U.K. And, depending on what happens today, there could be seven fewer still.

According to “Billionaire Census 2014” by Singapore-based research firm Wealth-X and Swiss bank UBS, there are now 2,325 people with a net worth of at least $1 billion this year – 155 more, or a 7% increase, from 2013….

Among countries, the U.S. is home to the largest number of billionaires and continues to be a good place to make a fortune: The country counted 56 new billionaires this year, for a total of 571. China came in second with 190 billionaires (up from 157 in 2013) and the U.K. was third, home to 130 (down from 135).
