Argentina, Paul Singer To Resume Talks About Talks About Maybe Ending This Default Impasse Sometime Next Year

The saintly Daniel Pollack will try to parse just how everyone wants to proceed once the rights against future offers clause Argentina’s been hiding behind is no more. For now, however, everyone wants to proceed exactly as they have been proceeding.

Kicillof today told reporters he was upset to have seen a full-page ad in today’s Washington Post picturing him and Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner under the headline “A Model of Unsoundness.” The ad was paid for by the American Task Force Argentina, a lobby group partly funded by Elliott and other hedge-fund holdouts.

He said the hedge fund’s tactics were “mafia-like.”

He did not say how, exactly, the hedge fund’s full-page newspaper advertising strategy was any different than his own.
