Former Weehawken resident Lori Schlitzkus says in the 1999 suit filed in New York’s Supreme Court that she met Lorello at her “place of employment” in 1995, when he was working at Salomon Smith Barney. Lorello, who kept a home in New Jersey at the time, put Schlitzkus up in a West 48th Street penthouse and insisted she give up her job by giving her a monthly allowance. But, The Post’s Julia Marsh reports, in December 1996, Schlitzkus said she started getting urinary tract infections and was diagnosed with chlamydia. She said she only had unprotected sex with Lorello after he assured her he was faithful, but claimed she later discovered he was not and “[he] was aware that [he] . . . was infected with the STD chlamydia, but never informed [her].” When Schlitzkus moved out in 1998, Lorello pressed charges for stealing his belongings, items she insisted were hers. She said in the papers that she learned in January 1999 that she “would be unable to conceive children” as a result of the STD and “will for a long time . . . continue to suffer severe physical and mental anguish.” A confidential settlement agreement was signed by both sides in September 1999.
Lorello, who went on to work at UBS, strongly denied her claims, saying in a court response that the STD was “caused by the negligence of plaintiff and/or third parties.” He adds that she “admitted to wrongfully taking property of defendant.” [...] A spokesperson for Lorello stated that “these completely unsubstantiated 15-year-old personal allegations from a woman who later admitted to wrongdoing were unequivocally denied by Mr. Lorello.”
