So An Ex-Goldman Sachs Employee Killed A Guy
Alexis Sanchez, 31, is facing 40 years in prison now that he’s been found guilty of murder and weapons possession charges, officials from the Bronx District Attorney’s office said. Sanchez was arrested in August, 2012 – about nine months after he blasted away at Stephen Mari, 42, who the defendant stiffed on a $180 heroin deal, cops said. The technician shot at Mari eight times during a confrontation in an alley on Purdy St. in Parkchester on Nov. 2, 2011. Mari was hit eight times: in the lungs, intestines, spinal cord and brain, according to court records. When being interrogated by Det. Robert Schlosser of the 43rd Precinct, Sanchez claimed that Mari had kidnapped him at gunpoint because he had shorted the dealer $35. He showed Det. Schlosser how he wrestled the gun away from Mari and shot the drug dealer, but his statements were refuted by a forensic pathologist at trial. [NYDN]
