"Dominatrix Of Helicopters" Touts Track Record
Tilton, who has become known as “the dominatrix of MD Helicopters” because she frequently wears black leather and boots, recounted her wins and losses over the past decade when she took over the troubled company from an entrepreneur who had purchased it from Boeing. The design traces its roots to Hughes Tool Company and designer Howard Hughes. McDonnell Douglas bought the company and then it was acquired by Boeing, which eventually spun off most of the helicopter assets that ultimately ended up with Tilton. [AOPA]
