It is an accepted pop culture law that fanboys love "easter eggs."

But devout fandom can be hard to hide, which is why we now know that head of House JPMorgan and Lord of Midtown, Jamie Dimon, is a hardcore fan of Game of Thrones.

Silicon Valley is coming. There are hundreds of startups with a lot of brains and money working on various alternatives to traditional banking.

That's a snippet of Jamie's annual letter shareholders, and direct evidence that he loves himself some GRRM. Clearly he's referencing the iconic phrase "Winter is coming" and giving a clear nod to his fellow ThroneHeads that he is one of them.

This is crystal clear and impossible to argue.

Jamie hid this reference in plain sight because he wanted us to know that he dreams of life in the Seven Kingdoms, he needs us to know that he fantasizes about how Tyrion could have prevented the London Whale.

But now that we know he's a GoT fanboy, where do his allegiances lie? Let's dig into how Jamie intends to fend off competition from all these online payment rebels and see if we can suss out if he's more of a Jon Snow, or a true Khaleesi.

We are going to work hard to make our services as seamless and competitive as theirs. And we also are completely comfortable with partnering where it makes sense.

That's textbook Northern strategy. Build an alliance, protect the wall and create a new king to stave off the aggression of from all that seek to harm you. Jamie is clearly down with House Stark.

Oh, if only it were that easy though. There's more to analyze.

But there is much for us to learn in terms of real-time systems, better encryption techniques, and reduction of costs and “pain points” for customers.

An acknowledgment that he is but a student of this new epoch? An allusion to the mystic powers of "pain points?" Uh oh, it looks like Jamie might be falling under the influence of the Red Priestess, Melisandre.

But the truth seems to lie in the last part of Jamie's Silicon Valley warning.

Rest assured, we analyze all of our competitors in excruciating detail – so we can learn what they are doing and develop our own strategies accordingly.

Cold, hard readiness and steely resolve to crush your enemies by any means neccesary? Jamie is a Lannister!

Well, it what right there in front of us the whole time.

This type of Wall Street GoT fandom has to make you wonder if Lloyd Blankfein refers to Gary Cohn as "Hodor" behind his back.
