Congress won't have Johnny Boehner to kick around anymore...

Speaker John A. Boehner, under intense pressure from conservatives in his party, will resign one of the most powerful positions in government and give up his House seat at the end of October, throwing Congress into chaos as it tries to avert a government shutdown.

Boehner received more Wall Street money that any other member of Congress. and he was a vocal defender of the financial sector throughout his tenure. He was also a genuine centrist who toiled publicly to keep his party from being dominated by the invading forces like the religious right and the Tea Party.

Logic would dictate that Republican Majority Leader, Rep. Kevin McCarthy (Calif.), will take the Speakership. But this is modern DC, so let's not get too comfortable with logic.

Before we get ahead of ourselves, let's take a moment to say goodbye to Boehner...

Good night, Sweet Prince.
