Bitcoin existentialist and occasional man of honor Trendon Shavers has manned up once again, acknowledging that if, in fact, it is possible to commit real fraud with fake money, in this case a Ponzi scheme with bitcoins, then, yea, that’s exactly what he was doing.

Trendon Shavers, who authorities said defrauded investors after raising more than $4.5 million worth of bitcoins while operating Bitcoin Savings and Trust, pleaded guilty in Manhattan federal court to one count of securities fraud.

"I know what I did was wrong, and I'm very sorry," Shavers said in court.

Under a plea deal, Shavers has agreed not to appeal any sentence at or below 41 months in prison.
