C'mon, Citi, think this stuff through.

End of the year compensation is a thorny issue across the financial sector. Getting everyone paid and happy while simultaneously taking care of your bottom line for next year is always a difficult line to straddle, and delivering bad news about who's getting paid what is dicey business.


But one good rule of thumb is to be careful about what you're saying to certain teams. For instance, don't tell the guys tasked with analyzing and forecasting other company's financials something that doesn't smell right about their own company because then we here at dealbreaker dot com end up with tips like this:
