Watch carefully, Gary Cohn, this is how it's done.

After her former Goldman Sachs colleague and present fellow West Winger Gary Cohn spent the morning appearing on every news station giddily touting the Trump administrations numerous imagined economic accomplishments, Dina Powell decided to let it be known that she is just about done with this White House gig.

And as soon as reports of Dina's plan to depart started to gain traction, the White House decided to spin it:

“Dina Powell has been a key, trusted advisor in this administration,” press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement Friday. “She has always planned to serve one year before returning home to New York, where she will continue to support the President’s agenda and work on Middle East policy. She will serve in the administration until early next year.”

Can you pick out the part that we don't believe?

Dina Powell is definitely leaving the White House in January, and returning to NYC. But the notion that she is going to run around Manhattan and The Hamptons as a proud alumna of the Trump Regime is a very hard to see. Powell is not just a Goldmanite, she's a do-gooder Goldmanite with deep ties to the limousine liberal cognoscenti set, so working alongside Donald Trump is going to leave some holes in her social calendar.

However fast Dina Powell manages to run away from her year spent inside Donald Trump's batshit presidency, Gary Cohn should time her, because he's going to need an accelerated version to salvage whatever is left of his reputation.
